The International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4™) began releasing trailers for the 2018 show earlier this week, beginning with Confluentus: The Merging of All Things by Gilbert Rowley of Capture Adventure Media. As the host of IF4™ Palmer and Anchorage, trailer debuts get me excited for the upcoming shows even if they are nine months away.
“Super excited and humbled to have another film in the IF4. This is a huge honor, and I’m glad I get to share it with two exceptional friends Devin Olsen and Chris Cutler. Can’t wait to see it on the big screen!”, Rowley wrote on his Facebook page.
We all dream of far flung pristine destinations with giant predatory fish that only the most exclusive and expensive lodges have access to. But for those of us who live in the real world, that type of fishing is often out of our reach, unless we are willing to chase it with a bit of sweat equity. In Confluentus: The Merging of All Things, three friends strap on backpacks to earn the opportunity to pursue bull trout in one of their last bastions within a pristine wilderness. Merging different backgrounds and unorthodox fly-fishing techniques, they experience a fishing trip that piscatorial dreams are made of. Come share it with them only at the International Fly Fishing Film Festival in 2018!
IF4™ 2018 lands at the 49th State Brewing Co. in Anchorage on September 21 and at Palmer’s Glenn Massay Theater on September 28, 2018.
