The Fishing Report Roundup gathers reports from around the web for your easy reference. Reports from multiple sources provide you with an idea of what is happening in an area and where to focus your efforts in the upcoming days. Remember that fishing reports state how conditions are on a sipecific day or week. Conditions can quickly change since first reported.
April 30 – 2guysflyfishing.com posted an exciting trip report with pictures from the Talkeetna River that includes the following advice, “… act soon; given the weather there may only be a couple weeks left before the river gets colored up to the point of not being fishable.”
May 1 – Susitna Salmon Center shot a interesting video showing how fast ice was flowing down the Susitna River.
May 3 – Deshka Landing reported that the ice is out at the boat launch and it appears as if ice is gone at the moment this picture was taken but you should still expect ice flow coming down the main stem at times. Deshka Landing posted on Facebook, “We have to make repairs to the launch and we will be replacing our entrance gate system starting this weekend. We plan to be open to the public before May 12th. We will post updates when we are ready to open.”
May 4 – Sometime the best fishing reports aren’t fishing reports at all. This Facebook post from Susitna Salmon Center tells you all you need to know about fishing the Talkeetna River.
May 4 – Mike Hudson from Three Rivers Fly & Tackle, reporting to The Frontiersman, “characterized fishing in the Susitna River drainage tributary streams as fair at this time, with some rainbow trout catches being made, but action likely to improve soon with improving water conditions.”
May 5 – There were reports of fish beeing caught last week a Susitna Landing. No such reports this week but that doesn’t folks weren’t catching fish, it just means that catches weren’t reported. It should be a nice weekend to go check for yourself.
We’ll continue to add more sources and reports each week as they become available.
